Things To Do In Denver

When people think of Colorado, they typically think of winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding. But the beauty of Colorado can be enjoyed any time of year. Why not take a couple days before or after your training to hike, bike, white water raft, ice skate, go downhill tubing or horseback riding, fish, explore a cave or old mine, shop, catch a sports event, eat out, or visit a museum, theater, or other attraction. There are plenty of activities for your family and children too.

Below we've collected a partial list of activities, attractions, and venues to help you start planning your trip to the Rocky Mountains.

Airport and Transportation

There are several options for getting to/from Denver International Airport and around Denver.

Denver International Airport

Want to know more about DIA? Parking? Restaurants? Security Wait? It's all online.

Shuttles & Limousines

Access Colorado Shuttle and Limousine: From the airport to the hotel, why not travel in style for nearly the same price as a taxi? (And avoid those death-defying lane changes along the way.) Prices start at $50 for 1-3 passengers, plus a 20% gratuity. Use the pre-Studio Yahoo! group to hook-up with fellow attendees and split the cost.

SuperShuttle or Altitude Airport Shuttle Express: These shuttle services provide door-to-door transportation for a reasonable cost. Keep in mind, however, that the shuttle will most likely make multiple stops along the way, so plan your time accordingly.

Colorado Mountain Express: Heading to the mountains before or after Studio? Check out this shuttle service to get you there stress-free.

Rental Cars

At Denver International Airport, you'll find 10 rental car companies to provide you a wide selection of options.

Public Transportation

The most affordable transportation in and around Denver is public transportation.

Denver's newest Light Rail system is ready to take you from the hotel to downtown and many places in between.

If you want to travel from DIA to the Denver Marriott South using public transportation, it's as easy as:

  • At DIA, buy a ticket at the RTD counter on Level 5 of the main terminal, in the area near Door 506, and grab your ride on the West or East sides by Island 5.
  • Catch the AT SkyRide Bus Route to Arapahoe Station.
  • Switch from Bus to Light Rail. Take line E, F, or G south to the Lincoln stop.
  • You'll see the Denver Marriott South less than a 1/4 mile to the south of the Lincoln stop.

For all the details and confirmation of bus routes and schedules, check out RTD's Site (click on skyRide in the sidebar).

Taxi

If you simply must take a taxi, check out Freedom Cab (303-444-444), Metro Taxi (303-333-3333), or Yellow Cab (303-777-7777).
